Welcome to Mr. Larson's web page. I have been teaching at Calvin Christian School since 1991. I teach Physical Education at both the elementary and middle school campuses which stated another way, I teach PE for K-8.

Along with my main responsibility of teaching, I am also the Athletic Director for Calvin's Extracurricular Sports Program. Calvin is a member of the South Side Youth Organization (SSYO) where we offer soccer and volleyball in the fall and basketball in the winter. I also serve at the before and after school Extended Day Program, where several of our students enjoy a variety of activities while they wait for either school to begin or their parent/guardian to arrive.

I was born in Minneapolis MN and then lived in Bloomington most of my young life. I attended Jefferson High School where I participated in my two favorite sports at the time, of gymnastics and track. I then went on to the University of Minnesota where I graduated with a BA in Education with a license to teach physical education. In 2001 I received my masters degree in Educational Leadership from Bethel College (now University). 

I believe in making physical education fun. My conviction is that if a child feels safe and loved no matter what their athletic abilities may be, they will enjoy learning. If they are enjoying themselves, they will try harder and accomplish more. I make it a primary goal to communicate to every student that they are a fellow creation of God and that they are valued and precious in his sight, and therefore mine.
