The plans for our environmental learning trip are nearly complete. CCS Edina 6th grade students will travel to the Luther Crest Environmental Learning Center near Alexandria Minnesota. We have spent considerable time planning a meaningful experience. The students will be accompanied and supervised by CCS staff members: Mr. Scott Ross and Mrs. Susan Koppendrayer along with parent volunteers Joshua Scrimshaw, Jeff Verdoorn, Renee Brastad, and Scott Sirek.
We will leave from the Edina campus on CCS buses after the beginning of the regular school day on Monday October 3. We will arrive back at the Edina campus by the end of the school day on Wednesday October 5.
Environmental learning has been a part of the CCS curriculum for over 20 years. We believe that students should see themselves as stewards of God’s creation. As such, they need to learn how they can treat creation in a way that will preserve our valuable resources and not only pass those resources on to future generations, but also help them train that generation to be godly stewards of creation.
We are looking forward to a great trip!
