What is safety and security?

• being free from danger
• knowing what to do when a stranger talks to you.

How do you know when your safe on the internet?

• Teens/kids must take extra precautions to make sure that they are safe on the internet.
• Don't talk to people you don't know anything about
• Be careful what you put where

Keep it clean

• Something that seems innocent to you can ruin your reputation.
• Always ask, “Is this appropriate”
• What would my mom think?
• What would a future employer think?
• What does God think?

Digital Commerce

• Digital Commerce is the buying and selling of goods online
• You should know how to buy and sell online safely so your identity does not get stolen
• Keeping Your Credit Card Number Safe
  • The only way you know if a website is safe is if the URL code has https. at the beginning instead of http.
  • never give your credit card number to http. websites or it will get all over the internet and you will lose a lot of money
• Scams
  • you should know what a scam is and looks like so they will not steal your identity
  • you are only one click away from getting your identity stolen, if you click on a scam then you are letting a virus into your computer that will steal your identity
  • Your parents should supervise all online purchases.

• Digital Literacy is the process of teaching and learning about technology and the use of technology
• Digital Etiquette is a basic set of rules you should follow in order to make the internet better for others, and better for you

• Emails are never really deleted.
• Chain Emails
  • Chain Emails are the fuel for scams, identity theft, and online fraud.
  • Every time you take part in a chain letter you supply your e-mail address to hundreds of other e-mail users out there.
