Equipping disciples of Christ
Calvin Christian School had its beginnings in 1961 at its current K-5 campus in Edina. In 2002 growth required the move of the middle school (grades 6-8) to a leased facility about two miles south of the original campus. Today CCS-Edina is a single K-8 program on two campuses, with approximately 180 elementary students and 85 middle schoolers.
The experienced, caring faculty of CCS-Edina includes classroom teachers at each grade level, along with specialists in music, art, physical education, media/library, learning resources, enrichment, Spanish, and technology.
Situated in a quiet neighborhood and bordered on three sides by parks, the Edina K-5 campus offers a great setting for elementary education. The campus comprises two buildings (approx. 45,000 sq ft), both of which were extensively expanded and remodeled in 2008. The CCS-Edina middle school is housed in the educational wing of a large church building. Calvin has use of seven spacious classrooms there, including a computer lab and science room, and uses the building's gymnasium, chapel/music room, and other special-use spaces as needed.
