2012-13 Annual Fund

The 2012-13 Annual Fund goal is $350,000,
divided among three priorities:

Financial Aid ----------------------------------------- Goal: $225,000

About a third of Calvin Christian families need financial aid to help them bridge the gap between the minimum on the Fair Share Pledge Guide and what they are able to afford.  This year the finance committee of the board reviewed financial aid applications and granted awards to 87 families, benefitting 170 students.  With an average award of approximately $3,180, annual fund contributions of $225,000 will fund scholarships for 71 deserving students.

K-8 Program Support ---------------------- Goal: $75,000

The heart of Calvin Christian’s mission is equipping students as disciples of Christ.  Students come with a wide range of abilities, talents, and interests, each uniquely gifted to serve in various areas of God’s big world.  That is why education at Calvin Christian is designed to educate the whole child, to recognize and respond to the diverse learning needs of our students.  It would be less costly to serve a narrow range of student abilities or pare back to basic academic offerings, but that would fall well short of realizing our mission.  Annual fund contributions help students continue to benefit from learning resource and challenge programs, Spanish and art classes, up-to-date instructional methods and technology, and more.

High School Program Support ----------------- Goal: $50,000

Calvin Christian’s commitment to meeting the diverse needs of its students is seen at the high school in many ways, including the expanding range of learning opportunities and services available to students.  Students with learning deficits are benefitting from the recent hiring of a part-time student services coordinator.  New academic offerings include classes in video production, world languages, and pre-engineering.  In addition to the core curriculum, students continue to enjoy established programs in the visual arts, music, drama, Spanish, interscholastic athletics, and more.  Annual fund contributions will help CCHS students continue to gain the broad range of skills and knowledge they will need to effectively serve Christ in the world.

Annual fund contributors are vital partners in carrying out Calvin Christian’s mission.  They make Christian education possible for many families who otherwise couldn’t afford it, and they enrich the educational experience for students at each of Calvin’s three campuses.

Please support the mission of Calvin Christian School with your gifts and prayers.  Please help us prepare the next generation to be God's hand in God's world.

We have seen the results of a child growing up with Christian education.  As a parent it's a joy to see the strong confident young adults they have become. The strong Christians they are and the faith that is their own has a lot to do with the Bible knowledge and teachers that made them think for themselves about the Christian worldview. None of this would be possible without the financial aid that we were given. We want to thank those who give to Calvin to help make it possible for us to send our kids to a Christian school.
