Frequently Asked Questions about Online Giving
Are electronic contributions risky?
No. An electronic contribution is safer than writing a checkit can't be lost, stolen or destroyed in the mail. And because both eGive and Google use industry-leading encryption, your sensitive information cant be stolen.
I click the eGive or Google Checkout button and nothing happens. What's wrong?
When you click these links, a new browser window is opened. If you are using a pop-up blocker such as the Google Toolbar, Norton Internet Security, or Pop-Up Stopper, the window will not open. Most Internet tools will allow you to permit pop-ups on a specific website. In order to use eGive or Google Checkout, you will need to allow pop-ups within www.calvinchristian.org.
Does online giving cost a lot to use?
No. It costs you nothing and saves you time. Calvin Christian School pays a nominal monthly fee to be an eGive partner, plus a per-donation processing fee that is less than the price of a postage stamp. Credit card giving through Google Checkout for Nonprofits is free through 2008, then will cost the school 2 percent per donation. Online giving saves Calvin Christian the expense of printing and mailing giving envelopes, streamlines record-keeping, and cuts down on paper use.
How can I keep track of my contributions?
Calvin Christian will provide charitable giving receipts for online donations, just as with other types of giving. You will also receive confirmation e-mails from eGive or Google, plus your bank or credit card statement will include an itemized list of gifts given from your account.
Is is possible to designate my online gifts?
Yes. The CCS development office will get a detailed report of the designation(s) you have requested for your gift.
